Detailed wireframes

I used Figjam to enhance design collaboration with my team, making it easier to convey ideas and obtain feedback. Sketching expedited concept refinement and encouraged innovative solutions, revolutionising my design process.

UI Design

After conducting thorough testing of the figjam wireframes with internal users, I proceeded to embark on the development of UI screens, leveraging the insights gained from the figjam files. Throughout the wireframing process, my forward-thinking approach aimed to ensure seamless progression, maintaining design consistency, and expediting the workflow while upholding exemplary quality standards.

Beginning with a clean slate, I diligently constructed a creative sandbox to nurture a plethora of innovative ideas before integrating them into an official page. This involved the establishment of reusable components and the formulation of a compact yet comprehensive design system to underpin the prototype.

A perfect method for managing inventory during international fashion shows.

Intro

The Burberry HQ in London reached out to us seeking assistance in revolutionising their internal operations. They specifically requested a product manager app that would streamline tasks for their fashion team, models, stock room staff and product management team.

To ensure that the app aligned with Burberry's brand and met internal requirements, we collaborated closely with their marketing and branding departments. Utilising Figma, we crafted designs and established a comprehensive design system that incorporated symbols, colors, imagery, tables, and button styles. Once the design was presented to the client , we meticulously recorded every detail in the design system, preparing it for the handover to the development team.

Introducing the Inventory Management Tool for Burberry UK

Burberry UK is proud to introduce a powerful and innovative solution to streamline inventory management across all our stores nationwide. In order to enhance efficiency and accuracy, our dedicated team has developed the Inventory Management Tool (IMT) specifically tailored to count inventory in all Burberry stores throughout the UK and fashion shows across the globe. With this cutting-edge system, the aim to revolutionise the way Burberry manage there stock, ultimately providing an exceptional shopping experience for valued customers.

1. Comprehensive Stock Tracking

The IMT is designed to provide comprehensive and real-time visibility of the inventory across all our Burberry stores in the UK. Through this advanced tool, our store managers will have accurate information at their fingertips, enabling them to make informed decisions on stock replenishment, allocation, and redistribution. This improved stock tracking functionality ensures that our stores are always adequately stocked, minimising instances of product unavailability and maximising sales opportunities.2. Simplified Stock Counting Process

Gone are the days of manual stock counting with pen and paper. The IMT automates the stock counting process, minimising errors and substantially reducing the time required to perform inventory checks. This simplification allows our staff to focus more on providing exceptional customer service rather than devoting excessive time to cumbersome administrative tasks.

3. Seamless Integration

The IMT seamlessly integrates with Burberry's existing technology infrastructure, ensuring a smooth transition and consistent data flow between our stores, warehouses, and headquarters. Through this integration, stock levels are accurately reflected across all channels, including online and in-store purchases, leading to improved inventory accuracy and minimised stock discrepancies.

4. Customised Reporting and Analytics

With the IMT, Burberry UK gains access to a robust reporting and analytics system. Store managers will have the ability to generate detailed reports on stock levels, sales performance, and stock movement, empowering them to identify trends, optimize stock allocation strategies, and make data-driven decisions. This feature will enable us to align our stock more precisely with customer demand, avoiding both overstocking and stockouts.

5. Enhanced Efficiency and Productivity

By incorporating the IMT into our inventory management process, we anticipate a significant increase in efficiency and productivity across our UK Burberry stores. The system's user-friendly interface and intuitive design allow for seamless navigation and a quicker learning curve, enabling our staff to adapt swiftly and utilise the tool effectively. This efficiency gains will result in improved customer satisfaction, as well as cost and time savings for our organisation.

Conclusion

The Inventory Management Tool developed by Burberry UK represents a significant step forward in our commitment to delivering excellence in stock management. Through this tool's advanced features, comprehensive stock tracking, simplified counting process, seamless integration, customised reporting, and enhanced efficiency, we are confident in our ability to optimise our stock levels, improve customer experience, and drive business success across all our stores in the UK. With the implementation of this innovative solution, Burberry UK reinforces its position as a leader in the fashion industry, demonstrating our dedication to excellence in all areas of operations.

Summary

I focused on creating a user experience plan for the stores and fashion apps before starting the UI design and prototyping. This careful planning made it easier to design the interface, leading to a better workflow. After almost a year of hard work, everyone was really happy with the excellent final product.

What were the benefits?

We produced a brand new process which saved time across the whole company. From delivery to stock take and transit times.

How we did it..

Discovery & Workshops

The team had weekly meetings to talk about the design areas we would work on during that sprint. These meetings were important for sharing ideas and helped us have a consistent design.

The app had two different flows—one for the stores and the other for the fashion industry. So we started with finding solutions for the stores' app while cross-checking the possible pain points for the fashion app.

Rapid prototyping

At Burberry HQ in London, we conducted extensive user testing to gain valuable insights into the usability of our designs. In order to achieve this, I meticulously created detailed prototypes, carefully crafting each screen and button to align with our testing goals.

These prototypes served as a tangible representation of our ideas and allowed us to gather valuable data that not only helped us manage stakeholders but also validated the effectiveness of our designs. By investing time and effort into these thorough testing procedures, we were able to ensure that our final product would meet the needs and expectations of our users.
