In 2019 I was heavily involved in the creation of the TechWorks in Bristol which is a new Deloitte Digital capability. Working within an initiation team, my role was the creative lead, which involved designing the new studio, working alongside facilities and architect’s, to creating high level plans with detailed interior design and Hardware requests. As Head of Design I led social events and studio forums across Bristol and London, recruiting talent and growing a team of UI and UX designers.

STUDIO DESIGN

Working with facilities the plan was to focus on what we could do with the current real estate, without spending too much on structural work. We could then move items to a bigger office as we grew. I worked across the design, management of hardware and interior.

DETAILED STUDIO DESIGN

Phase two of the design was to showcase the layout and interior to partners and key stakeholders, presenting areas in detail, due to the success of phase two we decided to create another floor specifically for larger events and client workshops.

BUILDING A CAPABILITY

Our main aim was to build a strong tech capability in the South West, with a team of 4 we grew to over 100 in the space of a year. Whilst our office was being built, we held forums at local collaboration spaces to attract talent and showcase what the future held. I attended tech events to spread the word about the new capability in Bristol and regularly went to London to make sure the capability and space was aligned.

CREATING A BRAND

Working with partners and key stakeholders I organised brand workshops to influence a new identity for the capability in Bristol, this was for external and internal use. A full brand guideline document was created to insure everything was covered from promotions, bids, powerpoints and events.
