Heading up the UI and UX for this project I was running workshops and leading a team of 15. Part of the job involved working with Apple and SAP, collaborating during 2-week sprints. The Burberry HQ in London asked if we could help them transform the way they work internally, starting with a product manager app that would help the delivery drivers, stock room staff and the management of products within one app. Workshops were run through a 2 week sprint at the Burberry HQ and stores across the UK to gain feedback of the current process.

UX design, Visuals and a working prototype was produced for the client

UX THINKING

Using the research from the structured workshops, we were able to create multiple user journeys and persona’s, in an open plan environment to allow collaboration from team and external members, to help map the process. This then led to further playbacks to mould the journey flow.

  • Reimagine the future system
  • Breakdown desktop only legacy system
  • Mobile first
  • User Research
  • Workshops

DESIGN & PROTOTYPING

Working from the Burberry HQ, we collaborated closely with marketing and branding to insure this was on brand and something which would work from an internal perspective. Creating designs using Figma we started to pull together a design system using symbols and other elements such as colour, imagery, tables and button styles.

Once the design was played back to the client using Invision as an enterprise tool, we insured every detail was documented within the design system ready for handover for development.

  • Design system
  • Prototyping
  • Development Handover

EASY SCAN

The main deliverable for this project was for the client to be able to easily scan products on delivery using a mobile device. The outcome allowed the client to scan multiple items within seconds instead of minutes. This would integrate with the Burberry stock system to allow stock take to be documented in a secure way.

  • Secure scan
  • Time saving
  • Integration with stock system

CARDS FOR SYSTEM ACCESS

Burberry needed the app to be secure along with access to various sites during stock taking, a new card was designed to add that extra level.

  • Various colours created for different levels of access
  • Integration with system for stock taking
  • Access to site locations

BURBERRY TEAM

A brilliant team effort for something which has changed the working lives for many at Burberry, a huge amount of design thinking, research, development and especially marathon workshops at the Burberry HQ made this project a joy to work on.

Heading up the UI/UX for this, collaborating with SAP and Apple on a very tight timeline was always going to be a challenge, but this is something myself and the team jumped at when working for such a great client.
